DBE Policy

Transit Authority of Central Kentucky, Inc. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program

POLICY STATEMENT

Transit Authority of Central Kentucky, Inc. (TACK) agrees to a policy of nondiscrimination in the award and administration of United States Department of Transportation ( USDOT) - assisted contracts in its Federally -assisted public transit services program.

TACK, as a sub recipient of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet/Office of Transportation Delivery, is included in a narrowly tailored disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE program), in accordance with applicable law, for the purpose of (a) To ensure nondiscrimination in the award and administration of DOT -assisted contracts; (b) To create a level playing field on which DBEs can complete fairly for DOT - assisted contracts; (c) ensure that only firms that fully meet 49 CFR Part 26 eligibility standards are permitted to participate as DBEs; (d) To help remove barriers and provide flexibility to the participation of DBEs in DOT assisted contracts; (e) To assist the development of firms that con complete successfully in the market place outside the DBE Program; and (f) To facilitate competition by small business concerns.

Furthermore, TACK, its contractors and subcontractors shall not discriminate on the basis of race color, national origin or sex in the award and performance of USDOT- Assisted contracts or in the administration of its DBE program or the requirements of 49 CFR part 26.

TACK shall take all necessary and reasonable steps under 49 CFR part 26 to implement this policy with its contractors and subcontractors.

This policy shall be prominently posted throughout TACK organization and the DBE and non-DBE business communities that perform work on the TACK's USDOT-assisted contracts.
